These were his instructions: “Take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. Wear sandals but not an extra shirt. Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town. And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” They went out and preached that people should repent. They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them. Mark 6: 8-13
Can you image traveling without a luggage? Without your essentials? Oh no… It does not make sense. Right? I don’t know about you, but when I travel, I do my best to pack smart. I actually begin packing weeks in advance, to make sure I do not forget anything.
In this verse we are told to “take nothing for the journey” God is saying the journey in itself will give you new essentials. Drop the old garments (expectations), drop the extra shoes (old experiences) Take one pair of sandals (single-minded humbleness).
TRUST HIM.
On this journey to your destiny (destination) God Himself is your guide. He is your provider, and He is going before you. You are just instructed to “Take nothing for the Journey”. nothing extra, except a staff (faith), oil (your anointing) and you trust in HIM. The outcome: REPENTANCE, FREEDOM & HEALING.
Are you ready to travel GOD’s Way? I AM.
PRAYER
Father God, thank you for always showing a better way. Thank you for your faithful hand that is alway stretched out to me. I am ready to take this your, your way. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
